Who we are

AudioToText.id is a free online tool that converts audio to text. This policy explains what data is processed when you use the site and how we treat it.

Your audio and recordings

When you choose a file or record your voice, the audio is read and transcribed directly by the browser on your device, using a speech recognition model that runs locally.

• Audio files, microphone recordings and transcripts are not uploaded to our servers or anyone else's.
• That data exists only in your browser's memory while the page is open, and is gone when you close or reload the page.
• Files you download (TXT, Word, SRT, VTT) are created on your device and saved straight to it.

Microphone

The site asks for microphone permission only when you press “Record from microphone”. Recording stops when you press stop. You can revoke microphone permission at any time in your browser settings.

Third-party services the page loads

For the tool to work, your browser downloads files from the services below. Like any request on the internet, these services may receive your IP address and browser information. Your audio is never sent to them.

• Hugging Face, to download the speech recognition model files. The model is cached in your browser so it does not need to be downloaded again.
• jsDelivr, to download the software library that runs the model in your browser.
• Google Fonts, to load the site's typeface.

Their use of data is governed by their own privacy policies.

Share button

On the voice note page, the Share button opens your phone's share menu or opens WhatsApp with the transcript text. Text is sent only if you press that button and choose where it goes.

Cookies and statistics

We currently use no cookies, analytics or ads. If we add any in future, we will update this policy first and change its effective date.

Technical data on our hosting

Like most websites, our hosting provider may log standard technical data when a page is opened, such as IP address, browser type and time of access, for security and to keep the site running. This data does not contain your audio or transcripts.

Deleting data on your device

The model files cached in your browser can be removed at any time by clearing site data (cache) for audiototext.id in your browser settings. The model will be downloaded again the next time you use the tool.

Your rights

Because we do not store your audio, transcripts or account data, there is generally no personal data about you in our systems to access, correct or delete. If you have questions about your rights over your personal data, including under Indonesia's Law No. 27 of 2022 on Personal Data Protection, please contact us.

Children

The site is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect children's personal data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if the way the site works changes. The latest version is always on this page, with its effective date at the top.
